About History of the Marine Corps

Six years. 250 years of history. One mission.

History of the Marine Corps is an independent podcast dedicated to documenting the complete history of the United States Marine Corps — from its founding at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia on November 10, 1775, to the present day.

What began as a personal passion project has grown into one of the most comprehensive audio archives of Marine Corps history available anywhere. Each episode draws on primary sources, unit histories, official records, and firsthand accounts to tell the full story of America's most decorated fighting force.

The podcast is produced by Firewatch Productions LLC, an independent media company built around the belief that military history deserves serious, sustained attention — not just the famous battles, but the forgotten campaigns, the individual Marines, and the institutional evolution that shaped the Corps over 250 years.

Bloodline is the natural extension of that mission. It's an interactive platform that puts hundreds of battles on a map, connects them to the episodes that cover them, and adds an AI research assistant — Scribe — for Marine Corps history. It's the research tool we always wanted and couldn't find anywhere else.

This project has no affiliation with the Department of Defense or the United States Marine Corps. It is an independent historical reference produced out of respect for the men and women who served.

"No better friend, no worse enemy."

General James Mattis, USMC
